Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Dorothea (affectionately known as 'Dottee') Cook Thompson accepted Christ at an early age. She is one of seven children and her parents, the Deacon Jeremiah (late) and Annie Cook, encouraged their children to have a personal relationship with Christ, to learn His Word and live a life of service to His kingdom. After graduating high school, she began her career in retail in Cincinnati Ohio, then later transferred to Oklahoma City, OK. Two years later she transferred to Wichita, Kansas as Manager of J.R. Riggins. She worked there for five years. Then she began her 18 year career at Dillards Department Stores. At that time she owned her own, Designer High End Fashion Consignment shop, Second to None. Dottee dated and married the love of her life TC Thompson. They have four wonderful children, Shayla, Drake, Carrington, and Daylee, and five fabulous grandchildren Shy'ann, Shylese, Jamayia, Elijah and Aria. Dottee says, “The greatest gift from God is the gift of Motherhood and the love of family”.

Since 1993, Dottee has been an active member of Saint Mark United Methodist Church. Every day, she is reminded of God's goodness and faithfulness towards her seeking to touch lives using music. She has been

honored to use her gift in several ministries: Women's Mass Sanctuary Choir (member), Director of the Children's Choir (Angelics) and the Children's Mass Choir. She is an active Youth Leader, Event Planning Ministry (Décor), Congregational Care Ministry, Seeds of Life Summer Camp Assistant, In July 2018, she accepted the position of Assistant Director of Saint Mark's Children's Ministry part time. Her favorite scripture is, Psalm 23, The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want, he makes me lie die in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters, he restores my soul, he leads me in paths of righteousness, for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no Evil, for you are with me, your rod, and your staff they comfort me. You prepare a table before me, in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil, my cup over flows. Surely Goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
