God Is Still In Control

"...It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son." Revelation 21:6-7

Are you anxious about the future? There are so many things happening in our world that causes many to fear. The economy, layoffs, the threat of terror and the list goes on. Yet, God offers the assurance of a hope and a future to those who believe in his Son, Jesus Christ! This powerful promise was a word of encouragement to those who were undergoing persecution during the 1st Century of the Christian Church.

We are discouraged by random acts of violence and unexplained shootings in our society. We are saddened by plane crashes and natural acts of catastrophe. Yet, Revelation tells us that there will be an end to the time of trials and tribulations, and the vision is one of a glorious new beginning.

God invites us to a life of faithfulness in the midst of the problems and contradictions that the world produces for our faith. These times should instill more confidence in us because we know how the end turns out. It is finished means the suffering is over. The call to hold on and endure will be gone. This is God's time, the kairos of each moment rather than the chronos of numbered days. Hallelujah! We have the power to overcome whatever comes our way.

Thus, the present represents our opportunity to tell the story. Rather than retreating into fear, we should be propelled into action. We are God's kingdom builders helping others to receive a new beginning in life. This is the essence and significance of our ministry.

Do you still have a sense of compassion for those who have not yet accepted God's acceptance? Do you know people in your sphere of influence who have not entered into a relationship with God? Have you been intentional about sharing with them the sources of hope that are available for their lives?

Now is the time to share a gift that will last a lifetime! Now is the time to be intentional about sharing the many opportunities for others to grow spiritually and personally through a relationship with Jesus. In so doing, you will be making an investment in people that will last throughout all eternity.

Lets help each other build the kingdom. What are some ways that you intentionally share your faith and/or invite people to church?
